X-Ray crystallography history
The extensive history of this research technique is important to its current development because it is a progressive technology; one step leads to the next. X-ray crystallography is a broad and highly useful method of examining crystal structures because as long as the sample can be crystallized and does not denature in the unique conditions of the experimental setup, then it can be applied. The most common uses of X-ray crystallography throughout history include analysis of protein structures, engineering of building materials, and investigation of ideal new materials for nanotechnology are only some of the thousands of reasons for continuing this well-established method.
